PORRIDGE FROM A KALASHNIKOV (photo documentation of the performance)
Boullion
2015
This work is based on a Russian folk tale.
A soldier is returning from military service. In a village along the way he asks a woman from one of the houses to feed him. The woman refuses, saying that she has no food to give him. The soldier then suggests that she make him some porridge from an axe. He puts an axe together with some water into a pot, brings it to a boil, and asks for some grain and oil to add to the dish. When the porridge is ready, the woman and her guest eat. The soldier puts the axe into his bag, says goodbye to the old woman, and says: “The axe will come in handy in another village…”
Bouillon Group wants to cook porridge from a Kalashnikov gun for the host country and feed the local people with it.
